The Brilliant Life of Eudora Honeysett by Annie Lyons
The Brilliant Life of Eudora Honeysett is the most feel-good book I’ve read in years. My Goodreads review was simply
which reminded me of this
which reminded me of me. And I love things that remind me of me.
A friend of mine had a similar review. “Is this the most precious book of all time? Probably.”
Eudora is an 85-year-old woman ready to be done with life when she meets her 10-year-old neighbor, Rose. It’s a book about loneliness and the power of community and friendship and it’s just charming. Oh, you’ll love it.
Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers by Jesse Q. Sutanto
Speaking of! I just finished Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers and I had a similar feeling. It seems strange to say a murder mystery is “cozy” or “charming” or “feel good,” but somehow it is!
Mainly because of Vera.
Vera is amazing.
A 60-year-old Chinese woman who owns her own tea shop, Vera lives a lonely life before a man shows up dead in the middle of her shop. Vera decides to investigate and drags along a random cast of characters on her quest.
You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. You’ll solve a murder mystery.
Have you read anything cozy lately?
Thanks for recommending books that feature older women. I’m an older woman that will probably read them. 👵 I’m definitely reading that first one! 😆💕
